I know it's kind of cliched to talk about what you're thankful for when Thanksgiving rolls around, but in honor of tomorrow's turkey-fest, I thought I'd jot down a few things that I'm thankful for. Some are sincere and heart-felt, some are tongue-in-cheek - you decide which is which.
1) My wife and daughters. Whenever I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels and wandering through life, they help to keep me grounded and loved.
Love you, babe. Love you, peanuts.
2) My family, both immediate and extended. As much as many of you don't know what to make of me sometimes, I appreciate that no matter what I try, you're right there backing me up.
3) My friends. I had once read in The Book of Questions a question that read:"Which would you rather have: many friends you are somewhat close to, or a small circle of close friends?" I've chosen the latter.
4) Pete's Wicked Ale. Brew of choice for those 5 or 6 times a year I drink.
5) World of Warcraft, for allowing me a place to vent frustrations and play make-believe.
6) Cool brothers-in-law. I never had any brothers, but I'm proud to call these three guys mine. Rob, Chris and Dave: you guys are way cooler than I and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
7) The Internet. It's provided me with entertainment, with news and ultimately, a wife and a life.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
Take care,
~Rob
