An update on my Uncle Jay: Last Wednesday (I think), a nurse practitioner came to my parent's house and checked him out. Shortly afterwards, she called my uncle's doctor and had him hospitalized. Flash-forward to today: I just got off the phone with my dad. The hospital called and told them that my uncle may not last the night - perhaps tomorrow, but that's all. Now that I've had some time to reflect on the events of the past week, I find that I'm not as upset as I was, just saddened more than anything. All this just before Thanksgiving, when I'll be seeing my folks for the first time in about 6 months.
I love the holidays, don't you?
